While presenting Annual Union Budget for the year 1995-96, the then Union Finance Minister has announced the creation of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) under NABARD for the development of Rural Infrastructure Projects in the country. Since 1995-96, this programme is being continuously implemented in the State. The work related to funding of rural infrastructure developmental schemes including MLA priority schemes under RIDF programme is being looked after by the RIDF Division.
